In the Maker's Hands - Mike Bigland

As part of our recent show Crafts Alive - In the Maker’s Hands at Rodmarton Manor we asked makers to share their favourite tools with us.

Mike Bigland is a sculptor and jeweller with a studio in Tewksbury and he tells us about his TIG Welder and why it special to him.

Tig Welder

My Microscopic TIG Welder has enabled me to refine my manufacturing of jewellery, particularly my stainless-steel sculpture.

My dragonfly, in particular, has very fine detailed wing structures and I can now make perfect welded joints in material less than 0.5mm thick.
