"The inspiration for my pieces is derived from folklore, tales, mysterious anomalies, charms, spells and strongly held beliefs. The spirituality that is placed on small icons, such as votive offerings used in some countries of catholic faith is of interest and the chimeras made in Victorian times, both inform my work. The materials in which I work are important for their lasting qualities, I like the fact that they could be buried and unearthed years later little altered.

Ceramics and silver have many elements in common the most obvious being they are both shaped and formed with heat. My training in 3d design ceramics, translates fluidly to the making of silver jewellery and other oddities and brings a lateral approach to the discipline."
