Sarah creates millinery and mixed-media textiles from her studio in Northamptonshire.

She has a background in costume design for theatre, dance and circus, and an interest in textile-based installation work.

Her millinery work combines traditional techniques with innovative shapes and unusual materials such as paper, metal and wood. The one-off hats and headpieces are witty and sculptural, designed to be as striking off the head as on.

Her textile jewellery develops many of the shapes and textures found on her hats, particularly flower motifs. Recent mixed-media textile objects explore themes of memory and nostalgia through photographs and handwriting.

She has exhibited at Origin, Chelsea Craft Fair, London Fashion Week, and craft galleries nationally. She is a member of the Gloucestershire and Devon Guilds of Craftsmen, and of the innovative Studio Seven group of textile artists.
